When this beautiful mama-to-be told me she wanted a maternity session that was a little more "dramatic" I instantly got excited.  I love when my clients come with their own ideas, and then I get to interpret what they have planned in a way that is (hopefully) true to myself and unique for them.  Sharing this on the first day of spring, because nothing says springtime more than an expecting mama and those film greens. 😍

the lucketts | families on film

One of my professional goals for this year was to shoot more film at all my sessions.  Although I started doing this in 2016 with couples, babies and families with older kids, I was always nervous (and/or terrified) of shooting film with toddlers.  So I decided to conquer my fear by leaving my digital cameras at home, with this the most adorable family of all time.  With film photography, the HD sharpness is replaced with soft beauty and the picture-perfect posing is replaced with the imperfect moments captured perfectly.  This is really where my heart is and where I hope to move my professional work this year.  If you are interested in doing a family session like this, give me a call and let's make some film magic together. 💗⭐

spring in the garden | 2017 spring minis

Spring mini sessions this year are at the Mississippi Museum of Art gardens!  I shot a wedding here several years back and thought it would be the perfect spot for beautiful, classic portraits of your babies!  Here's a peek into a quick shoot I did with my girls.  Honesty: I swear I put them both in appropriate shoes before we left, and then my youngest rascal somehow changed into her dirty play boots without me noticing?  And I'm nearly positive I brushed their hair beforehand?  Props to all you mamas that get your kids ready and beautiful for these mini sessions, I am constantly in awe of you! :)
